Talented K9 Dog Training
The Training That Just Feels Right
This is all of the training equipment we currently recommend. Each category has numerous options. You can choose the one that you feel will work best for you and your dog. If you're not sure which one to go with, feel free to ask and we'll help you find one that suits your needs. Be sure to get the right size for your dog when you click on the link.
We recommend getting things as you need them.
Please note: When you sign up for a 1-2-1 private lesson, depending on the program you choose, some equipment will be included.
If you need anything specific for a training class, we will let you know. I've tried to find the best places and supplies to recommend you to and have tried to be sure they all ship to the US, however, if you find a place that does not ship to the US, please let me know so I can remove it from the list.
Harnesses
* Xtra Fleece Harness (Our favorite!)
Leashes
Long Lines
Elevated Beds
- The Dog Cot Bed is the least expensive, however, it doesn't hold up like the other ones do.
Tugs
Note: Best to buy 2 tugs that look exactly alike so you're prepared for some of the games we play.
Treat Pouches
Note: Tupperware containers also work, just grab a handful as you need. Use what will work best for you!
Other
- Quiet Clickers are good for noise sensitive dogs.
- Squeeze Tubes work great if you feed your dog raw or if you have a dog that eats wet food or a dog with a small tummy. You can put the food in these tubes and squeeze little bits out as a treat reward.
Passive Calming Options
* Starmark Everlasting Treat Ball
Note: These will be used with our Calmness Wheel & will help give your dog something to do during training breaks at class.
Long Lasting Chews
* Amazon
Note: Having a variety of long lasting chews will help keep your dog interested and enjoying their chews. Chews make a great passive calming activity and give your dog something to settle down with.
Please note, some bones are not safe for dogs. Please do your research and pick the ones you feel will be safest for your dog.
Treats
- Can cut rolls into small cubes for training and can easily be used for part of your dog's dinner.
* Dog Training Treats from Amazon
Note: Having a variety of treats is key to keep your dog from getting bored of the same ole treats. Helps add unpredictability an experience to the training process. You can also use different types of dog food your dog loves. Having a mixture of low, medium, and high value treats can really boost your training.
