Skill Options List

Here are our skill options for our programs that allow you to pick and choose what you would like help on.

If you don't see something on this list that you do need help with, be sure to mention it! We will be able to help you figure out which program would best suit you or customize one of them so we can be sure to meet your training goals.

- Sit, Down, and stand cues + Stay

  •  We will play games and grow your dog or puppy's skills of learning how to do each of these behaviors on cue and how to hold position while you move away.

  • Builds focus, proximity, self-control, and independence

- Heel and Loose Leash Walking

  • We will play games and grow your dog or puppy's skills of learning how to heel right by your side, for when you need your dog close. We’ll also teach them how to walk on a loose leash, for times when you don't need them right at your side and can give them more space, yet still don't want them pulling you around.

  • Builds focus, proximity, disengagement from distractions, and engagement with you.

- Recalls / Coming when called

  • We will play games and grow your dog or puppy's skills of learning how to come all the way back to you when you call them, the first time you call.

  • Builds focus, proximity, disengagement from distractions, and engagement with you.

- Boundaries and Calmness

  • We will help you teach your dog or puppy how to stay on a bed or boundary to help them relax. Boundaries are wonderful for keeping dogs out of the kitchen when cooking, off the counters, away from the dinner table while everyone is eating, and will give them a place to be when visitors arrive so they aren't jumping up on everyone.

  • We also help you strategize how to grow calmness in your dog or puppy without having to constantly exercise them to wear them out.

  • Builds calmness, self-control, and independence

- Appropriate Greetings and Food Manners

  • We will play games and improve your dog or puppy's skills of learning how to greet people appropriately, with all 4 paws on the floor, and how to have self-control around food so they aren't stealing everything within their reach.

  • Builds focus, self-control, and disengagement from distractions

- Building Food and Toy Motivation

  • A dog who is willing to train and work for food or a toy is a joy to train and makes everything so much easier! Some dogs are just not toy or food motivated, and that's okay because it's a skill we can grow as well! We will play games that help grow your dog's food and toy motivation, as well as give you tips and tricks to get your dog, loving training for food and toys!

  • Building more engagement with you

- Crate Games / Kennel Training

  • Do you have a dog that doesn't like their kennel / crate, refuses to go in it, and can't settle once they are in it? Or maybe you are thinking about using a kennel or crate with your dog and want to do it the right way, right from the start. We will teach you how to get your dog absolutely loving their kennel and how to get them to settle once they are in there so they can be calm, quiet, and happy.

  • Builds independence, calmness, and self-control

- Door manners

  • Does your dog bolt through doors every time one opens? Do they push their way out or knock over your kids? Do they jump out of the car or truck as soon as you open those doors too? Would you like to teach your dog some door manners so you can easily open the door and have them automatically wait for permission to go out?

We will teach you how to get your dog to wait for permission to go out when doors open and how to get                them waiting for you on the other side, after you let them out, so they don’t take off before you’re ready.

  • Builds self-control around doors

- Building Confidence & Optimism

  • Do you have a nervous or fearful dog that is afraid of pretty much everything? Or maybe they are just slightly nervous in certain situations. We will teach you some fun games you can play with them that will help boost their confidence and optimism so they can learn that everything doesn’t have to be so bad and scary.

- Whistle Recall

  • Have you ever wanted to teach your dog how to come when you use a whistle? We will teach you how to get your dog to come running every time they hear the whistle! Great for emergencies or if your dog wanders out of normal hearing range.

  • Builds focus, proximity, and disengagement from distractions
